Safia (radi Allaho talla anha)was the only confirmed aunt (fathers'sister) of prophet Muhammad sallallaho allihiwasallam who embraced islam. she used to love her nephew very much & was brave woman.. she was accompanied
with the soldiers of islam in the battle of Uhad... & worked in this battle as a kind hearted nurse. She used to clean wounds and bandage them . she also helped injured soldiers of Islam water in the battle field !

He was the one out of 2 Uncles of Prophet [sallalla ho allihi wasallams]' who embraced islam. The Other one was Hamza [radi Allah ho talla anhu] who is buried in the battle field of Uhad in Madina Munawara.

And: "I am the first for whom the Earth will burst open, then Abu Bakr and then Umar. I shall then come to those who are buried in al-Baqi' and they will be gathered along with me. After that I shall wait for the people of Mecca so as to be gathered among the inhabitants of the two sacred cities." {Source:-Tirmidhi}
In the time of PROPHET {sallallahu alayhi wa sallam} this grave yard was thought to be outside of Madina but now it is adjacent to Masjid an Nabwi. Al-Baqi' is a powerful place. Imam Malik rahmatullah alayhi (a resident of this blessed graveyard) puts the number of Sahabah buried here as 10,000.
May Allah Ta'ala be pleased with them all. Sulaiman b. Buraida [Allah be pleased with him] narrated on the authority of his father that the PROPHET (may peace be upon him) used to teach them when they went out to the graveyard. on the authority of Abu Bakr [ Radi Allah Tala Anhu ] "Peace be upon the inhabitants of the city .. (i.e. graveyard)." In the Hadith transmitted by Zuhair "Peace be upon you, the inhabitants of the city, among the believers, and Muslims, and God willing we shall join you. I beg of Allah peace for us and for you." {Source:-Sahih Muslim Book 004, Hadith # 2128.} |
