The Quran-e-Kareem describes it as being greater in blessedness and spiritual virtue than a thousand months which in turn means that if someone finds this night and do Ibaadah, the reward he/she could get would be greater than eighty three years and four months of Ibaadah. We have approached the last ten days of the blessed month of Ramadan. Ahadiths of Holy Prophet (Peace and Blessings be upon Him) inform us that Lailat-al-Qadr falls in the last ten days of Ramadan. We wanted to share with you few Quranic verses and Ahadith Nabawiya on Lailat-al-Qadr, as well as links to few related lectures and books of Shaykh-ul-Islam: - Surely, We have sent it down in a blessed night. Surely, We are the Warner (The Glorious Qur'an, 44:3)
- Surely, We sent down this (Holy Qur'an) during the Night of Destiny.
- And what have you made out what the Night of Destiny is?
- The Night of Destiny is better than a thousand months (in merit, blessings, reward and recompense).
- The angels and the Spirit of Peace (Gabriel) descend by their Lord's command during this (night) with decrees concerning all matters (of blessings and bounties).
- This (night) is (absolute) peace and security till daybreak.
(The Glorious Qur'an, 97:1-5) - Allah's Messenger (Peace and Blessings be upon Him) said: 'Seek the night of Destiny in the odd numbers of last ten,' and in one report: 'in the last seven (odd) nights of Ramadan.' (Agreed upon by al-Bukhari and Muslim)
