The forbiddance of celebrating non-Muslims festivals
All perfect praise be to Allaah, The Lord of the Worlds. I testify that there is none worthy of worship except Allaah, and that Muhammad is His slave and Messenger of Allah. We ask Allaah to exalt his mention as well as that of his family and all his companions.

Allah say's in Quran, (what means):--
{You are the best ummah singled out for mankind: you enjoin what is right (ma'roof), forbid what is wrong (munkar), and believe in Allah.} [Quran, Al-Imran: 110]
{This day I have perfected for you your religion and completed my favor upon you and Have approved for you Islam as religion.} [Quran, Al-Ma'ida:3]
"It is He who has sent His Messenger (Muhammad ) with guidance and the Religion of Truth (Islam), to make it superior over all religions even though the disbelievers hate it." [Quran, At-Tawba:33]
Christians celebrate at Christmas what they believe to be the "day of the birth of God's Son" or what they call "God Incarnate". Thus it is not only a celebration of another religion; it is also a celebration that is based on a belief that is totally against the teachings of Islam. From the Islamic point of view, the belief in the "Son of God" or "God in the flesh" is a blasphemy and kufr (denial of God's Oneness). By participation in Christmas, it is possible that slowly one may lose his or her consciousness of this basic point of difference. Muslims must be very careful in this matter. The greatest danger is for our next generation, who may slowly lose their Islamic faith in tawhid and may start believing in Jesus as "more than a prophet and servant of Allah".

It was one of the signs of his Prophethood, that he foretold the following: "You will follow the ways of those who were before you span by span and cubit by cubit, to the extent that even if they enter a lizard's hole, you would follow them." The Companions asked, "O Messenger of Allaah, is it the Jews and Christians [whom you mean]?" The Prophet, said: "Who else?" [Al-Bukhaari and Muslim]
The Prophet, , further said: "The Hour (i.e. the Day of Judgment) will not be established until the people of my Ummah imitate the previous generations and nations and follow them span by span and cubit by cubit."People asked, "O Messenger of Allaah, do you mean (by those nations) the Persians and the Byzantines?"The Prophet, , said: "Who could it be other than they?" [Al-Bukhaari]
The Prophet, , said: "Whoever imitates a certain people becomes one of them." [Abu Daawood]
 Sheikh al-Islam Ibn Taymiyah said:
"Imitating them in some of their festivals implies that one is pleased with their false beliefs and practices, and gives them the hope that they may have the opportunity to humiliate and mislead the weak."
Congratulating the non-Muslims on their religious festivals implies that one accepts or approves of their rituals of disbelief, even if one would not accept those things for oneself. But the Muslim should not accept the rituals of disbelief or congratulate anyone else for them, because Allaah Almighty does not accept any of that at all, as Allaah Says (what means): "If you disbelieve - indeed, Allah is Free from need of you. And He does not approve for His servants disbelief. And if you are grateful, He approves it for you…" [Quran, Az-Zumar: 7] Allaah Says (what means):
If the non-Muslims greet us on the occasion of their festivals, we should not respond, because these are not our festivals, and because they are not festivals which are acceptable to Allaah. These festivals are innovations in their religions, and even those which may have been prescribed formerly have been abrogated by the religion of Islam, with which Allaah sent Muhammad,  to the whole of mankind. Allaah Says (what means): "And whoever desires other than Islam as religion - never will it be accepted from him, and he, in the Hereafter, will be among the losers…" [Quran Al-Imran: 85]
It is Haraam for a Muslim to accept invitations on such occasions, because this is worse than congratulating them as it implies taking part in their celebrations.
Whoever does anything of this sort is a sinner, whether he does it out of politeness or to be friendly, or because he is too shy to refuse, or for whatever other reason, because this is hypocrisy in Islam, and because it makes the non-Muslims feel proud of their religion.
Allah is the One Whom we ask to make the Muslims feel proud of their religion, to help them adhere steadfastly to it, and to make them victorious over their enemies, for He is the Strong and Omnipotent.

Best Regards
